The MAMMA MIA BRIDAL SHOWER: The Wedding Diaries

As like many of us millenials, I was brought up listening, singing and dancing to the playlists of ABBA’s classics. So when Mamma Mia came out, (both in theatre and the movies), I was bound to become OBSESSED! The Voulez Vous bachelorette was a definite when it was my turn to get married and it just so happens, everyone in my family are mega Abba fans too.

It’s tricky to plan outdoor pre wedding events when you’re getting married in March as the UK generally has quite cold, unreliable weather at the beginning of the year. This is when I decided with my mum that the bridal shower will be on the first week of September (6 months before the wedding). Yes, it was early but yes, it was worth it. As the last few years have proven, this weekend was a heat galore and the sunshine came to stay. My dad, with his new love for gardening, had a brand new patio made by our pergola at the back of the garden and this would be the perfect set up for our long outdoor dining table.

The decor! My mother, aunty and I set this all up ourselves ordering little bits from various online sites, using some decor from a friend, we managed to transform ourselves to the Mediterranean!

A bit of improv with the cocktail names!
Absolutely delicious food!

We had Lebanese catering and buffet service on a separate table is always the easiest when hosting a party of 25 + people.

There was a lot of champagne!

It’s no bridal shower without a few games and Etsy printouts are definitely the best place for these – there are so many out there!

My aunties and my mother surprised me to a phenomenal ‘Donna and the Dynamos’ Super Trouper performance which had my friends, cousins and I in complete hysterics🤣! What a group♥️

We partied until the early morning hours and even had some gatecrashers (men) join us later – they just couldn’t resist a good party!

A big shout out to @photographybyBremika for the beautiful shots!
